Initial design ideas using flower shapes found at a local garden centre
Burning, staining, and manipulating polyester fabric to create layered flower shape- with hand embroidered French knots.
Testing idea using different materials of cotton blend and tile netting. This creates less texture and more burning that creates a colour change in the fabric.
Testing preferred idea using different colour palette of pinks and cream.
Trialling large scale flowers, to create a statement on garment. This was unsuccessful as it shows limited detail and does not give the same textured effect.
A quick introduction to me as a textile designer and my work. After graduation from Arts University Bournemouth in 2020 with a degree in Textiles I decided that I wanted to strengthen my skills further and have just began my MA in Textile Design at Winchester School of Art. Throughout this year I plan to take as many opportunities as possible, and gain confidence in myself as a designer ready to take my next career steps.
