When I reflected on my project as whole from the beginning to this point (week 5) I realised that there was a lack of connection between my initial research into nature and the drawings that I was currently making. Th initial research imagery found from secondary sources online depict a variation of marks and textures and structures that I have not touched on as much as I would like throughout my project. Due to this there is not enough variety within my drawing when developing my ideas into draft design ideas. Each of my collection designs will need an entirely new design to prevent them from looking alike. Throughout my sketchbook I have included a large amount of drawings using different styles, scales, and mediums. To strengthen the nature themed part of this project I have created some first hand drawings of organic nature. In these drawings I have used Indian ink, biro, felt tip pen, and collaging to create a variety of drawings of mushrooms, which are commonly found in small sections in the New Forest. I have played with different scales and attempted to create a rough pattern idea from the mushroom shape, to help me get an idea of how this could be developed into a design idea.

Scale:
This drawing has been adapted from a previous page in my sketchbook. To experiment with different scales I have used a thick black felt tip pen to create a leaf pattern roughly spread across the page. The two pages shown here are both created on a large scale (A2), however they use two different scales of drawing within them. One has been used with much larger leaves, and the other drawn with smaller leaves; this was to aid me in envisioning how these would appear when on a larger scale and if they would be successful or not. In this case the larger scale of motif is more effective as you can see the overlapping and layering of the leaf in some areas more clearly than the other drawing. This prevents the drawing from being chaotic whilst still having enough felt tip marks to fill the page without too many gaps.
