Uniqlo’s Recycled Down Campaign

Uniqlo Made For All Campaign

Uniqlo.co is a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer founded in 1949. They produce clothing ‘Made for all’, that provides high quality, purposeful clothing for all people regardless of age, cultural background, gender that makes life better in small and big ways. Through this they support any local communities and neighbours in ways that may not be directly related to clothing.

UNIQLO’s new Recycled Down Campaign, RE.UNIQLO, launched Thursday, September 24, 2020. All UNIQLO Men’s and Women’s down products will be collected from customers, including the signature Ultra Light Down styles, in exchange for $10 Thank-You Vouchers valid on purchases of new Mens and Women down outerwear items in stores and on UNIQLO.com. The aim of the Recycled Down Campaign  is to become more sustainably aware and encourage consumers to recycle their clothing rather than it becoming waste. The mens and womens down products can then be recycled into something of better use, or wasted in a more eco-friendly way.

Uniqlo down is already sustainably and responsibly sourced, so the Recycled Down Campaign continues the spreading awareness that the Japanese company is already doing. The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) aims to ensure that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to unnecessary harm. They believe that education – through RDS – is a meaningful way to drive demand for strong animal welfare practices.
